GAINING ATTENTION





DEFINITION OF GAINING ATTENTION :

Gaining attention is a way or expression that is spoken so that other people will pay their attention to what we want to.
OR
Gaining attention is expression of regards that we say if we meet someone/somebody.

Example Of Dialog :
 
Vicky        : “Excuse me, anybody here an give someone drink ?”
Hani         : “sssssssttttt……. Don’t make noisy, Vicky !”


If you want to gain attention of some people, you can use :
  • Attention, please !
  • May I have your attention, please !
  • Excuse me, look here !
  • Listen to me, please !
  • Waiter ?
  • I am sorry, but. . .
  • Wow, really ? 

To response the expression about something, we can use:
- I’m listening
- I’m ready to hear now
- Let’s hear it together
- Let’s pay attention announcement 
 

Example:
Rina       : Hello Melisa, look at me ! 

Jeniva    : Yeah, I’m looking you.
Rina      : What is there different something in my eyes? 

Jeniva    : Oh.. no there

Greeting can we used to open a convercation like this :
“All right everybody. I’ll tell you about….. “
